Description:Utilize marketing experience in the area of pharmaceuticals and/or medical devices to develop, propose and implement marketing plans for Ferring’s products and coordinate on-going activities relative to these products. To manage, individually or as the head of a team, all aspects of marketing for Ferring products: advertising, promotion, packaging, sales and expense budgets, managed-care pull-through, etc. This position will also provide strategic and tactical advice and market expertise on the products under his/her responsibility, as well as for products under development.
Duties:Play a critical role in the development of annual budgets and business plans.

Serve a lead role representing marketing on project development teams as appropriate.

Conduct business development assessments as required.

To keep aware of, analyze impact and make recommendations to senior management on market trends and competitive information.

To propose tactics for advertising and promotion for assigned products.

Monitor, review, report and analyze monthly sales and expense performance data.

Prepare monthly update forecasts of promotional and advertising expenses.

Work effectively with the ad agency and PR firm to execute communication strategies, conduct media analyses, and make recommendations for selections and scheduling.

Develop and communicate sales forecasts on a monthly basis to Production Planning to ensure adequate inventories.

Develop and communicate sales forecasts for Budget and Business Plan processes.

Coordinate changes in packaging specifications with Production and Regulatory Departments.

Maintain contact with field sales force to monitor promotional efforts including: working in field and attending sales meetings and providing assistance to the National Sales Director.

Provide information and assistance to the Medical Services Department, as needed, for handling complaints and/or medical community requests.

Participate in establishing pricing policies. Maintain up-to-date data files on competitors’ products and pricing.

Assist in sales training programs with sales training for assigned products.

Develop managed care pull-through initiatives.

Review copy jackets for all assigned products.

Represent the company at professional industry meetings, trade shows, seminars, conventions, etc.

Attend Ferring Group meetings leading to harmonized market plans as appropriate.

Qualifications:Education: Bachelor Degree (Life Science i.e.: chemistry, biology preferred); MBA preferred.

Experience: 4-6 years’ of previous in-line product/account management experience within the pharmaceutical or medical device arena.

At least 4 years of US product/account management experience strongly preferred.

Previous completion of at least three marketing plan cycles (this includes forming a marketing plan team, writing a plan, presenting that plan to management and executing the plan).

2-3 years of collective previous sales, sales analysis, and/or market research required.

Completion of at least two major presentations to senior management functions (COO and above) – i.e. Business plan, budget, product acquisition recommendation, special projects, etc.

Conducted at least three complete business development/product assessments including: research, forecasts and presentation of opportunity to management functions.

Proven successful track record of accomplishments as a product manager (for Ferring employees this involves 2 consecutive annual reviews with a rating of “very good” or above).

Frequent travel (20 – 30%) required.
